About the press
Practical guides to new territory
An independent imprint for people who want to use AI seriously and well.
The press in brief
In one paragraph
What is Here Be Lions Press?
Here Be Lions Press is an independent publishing imprint founded by Antonio Pagano in 2026. It publishes practical books, workbooks, prompt guides and free tools for people who want to use AI to expand what they can do while keeping their own judgment, creativity, critical thinking and responsibility. Its first title is Dangerous with AI.
Our editorial line
What does Dangerous with AI argue?
That AI amplifies whoever uses it. It can scale good judgment, creativity and ambition, and it can scale mistakes, bias and overconfidence just as fast. The book teaches professionals to become capable with the tools while keeping human judgment and responsibility in command. "Dangerous" here means formidable and in control, not reckless.
The name
Hic sunt leones: here be lions
Old mapmakers wrote hic sunt leones across land nobody had charted yet. It marked the edge of what was known. It was never an order to turn back.
We think AI is that kind of ground for most professionals right now: real, valuable, and poorly mapped. The press exists to draw useful maps of it, and of whatever new territory comes after.

The standard: practical over hype, and the reader stays in charge. Every title should leave you more capable and more responsible for the result, not more dependent on the machine.
